1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and disclosed when you access or use the Vektes Protocol Interface at app.vektes.com and the informational website at vektes.com (collectively, the "Services").
The Vektes Protocol itself is a set of decentralized smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. On-chain transactions are publicly visible by design — this is a feature of blockchain technology, not a data collection practice.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- We do not require account creation or registration
- We do not have access to your private keys or wallet seed phrases
- We do not custody or control any digital assets
2.2 Information Automatically Collected (Interface Only)
When you access the Interface (app.vektes.com), we may automatically collect:
- Wallet address: Your public blockchain address when you connect your wallet
- Transaction data: Details of transactions you submit through the Interface (which are also publicly recorded on-chain)
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution
- Usage data: Pages viewed, features used, time spent
- IP address: Temporarily processed for security and geo-restriction purposes
- Cookies: Essential cookies for Interface functionality (see Section 5)
2.3 Blockchain Data (Public by Design)
When you use the Protocol, the following information is permanently recorded on the Ethereum blockchain:
- Your wallet address (sender/recipient)
- Transaction amounts and tokens
- Transaction codes you provide
- Settlement dates
- Timestamps
This data is inherent to blockchain technology and is publicly accessible. We do not control, cannot modify, and cannot delete on-chain data.
3. How We Use Information
Information collected through the Interface is used to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Interface
- Enforce geographic restrictions (Restricted Jurisdictions)
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
- Analyze aggregate usage patterns (anonymized)
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to third parties
- Use your information for advertising or marketing
- Share your information except as described in Section 4
4. Information Sharing
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Legal compliance: When required by law, regulation, or legal process
- Security: To investigate or prevent fraud, security threats, or violations of our Terms
- Service providers: With infrastructure providers (hosting, analytics) who process data on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations
- Aggregate data: We may share anonymized, aggregate statistics that do not identify individuals
5. Cookies
The Interface uses only essential cookies required for basic functionality:
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet connection state | Remember your connected wallet | Session |
| Interface preferences | Theme, language settings | Persistent |
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies that identify individual users.
6. Data Retention
- Interface logs: Retained for a maximum of 90 days, then deleted
- IP addresses: Processed in real-time for geo-restriction; not stored beyond session
- Blockchain data: Permanent and immutable (outside our control)
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the Interface, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS)
- Access controls limiting personnel access to user data
- Regular security reviews
However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access information we hold about you
- Request deletion of information (excluding on-chain data which is immutable)
- Object to processing of your information
- Data portability
To exercise these rights, contact us at team@vektes.com.
8.1 On-Chain Data
We cannot modify or delete data recorded on the Ethereum blockchain. This is a fundamental property of blockchain technology. If you do not wish for transaction data to be publicly recorded, do not use the Protocol.
9. International Data Transfers
The Interface may be hosted on servers in various jurisdictions. By using the Interface, you consent to the transfer of information to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.
10. Children
The Services are not intended for persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
The Interface may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., block explorers, wallet providers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at vektes.com/privacy with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance.
